Punta Cana, the second busiest airport in the Caribbean, has undergone significant changes in recent years. TropicalSim's latest version of this popular holiday destination features a modern passenger terminal, new apron, taxiways, and other improvements. Terminal B, which opened in late 2023, is the most recent addition to the airport. Despite handling over 5 million passengers annually, the airport lacks jetways and air conditioning in most buildings. Instead, passengers board using airstairs, giving the airport a nostalgic charm. While there is currently no ILS (Instrument Landing System), there are plans to install this navigation aid in the future. The airport has experienced rapid growth, with passenger numbers increasing from 3.5 million in 2007 to 5.1 million in 2013. Punta Cana offers flights to and from a wide range of destinations worldwide, including Central America, Europe, North America, South America, and the Caribbean itself.
